- Power into the OTS data center is derived from two distinct physically diverse electrical power grids. The power coming into the facility is conditioned via multiple UPS units. These units also serve as battery power backup while standard line power is switched over to generator power in case of an emergency. An extensive battery backup system, is utilized to condition all power coming into the facility. These units have redundant fail-over features and prevent against power surges, spikes, and brown outs. The electrical needs of the OTS data center are also supported by a 450 kW diesel generator. OTS also has contracts in place for additional fuel delivery
- Green initiatives – OTS, in an effort to be more power friendly and cost effective, has completed many and is in process of many more initiatives to reduce power usage. Through massive consolidation efforts and virtualization OTS has reduced our server footprint by 90% over traditional methods. In addition, we are in process of replacing our older UPS systems with newer more efficient systems.
